Actors

Our Main Actor Jordan in the first part of the opening. The suit gives the main character a sense of authority and formality. Although black normally creates a sense of mystery, the voiceover destroyes the effect of mystery as it is the main character talking about himself and telling the audience about his life. His hair is styled in the film opening unlike in the photo above and it makes him look like an average business-man; smart and professional. Wearing a suit has connotations of power which is the effect we want for the first part of the opening as it creates a contrast in the second part of the opening where he is helpless and vulnerable.

Our Main Actor Jordan in the second part of the opening. The main character is wearing ripped jeans, a dark hoodie and a waterproof coat over the top. These clothes are worn and show his decline from the powerful figure he once was. The difference in clothing and attitude (Shown more in the actual filming rather than the picture) creates enigma and shock with the audience. The actor we are using, Jordan, is the best to use for the character because he looks like a business-man but can also look like the complete opposite. He also acts both the character personalities he is meant to be, a smart influencial business-man and a vulnerable helpless homeless man.

Our Second character Tosh is in the second part of the opening. He is the unknown man chasing our main character, he is wearing black to symbolise sophistication and mystery to create enigma. His apperance is in contrast to the main characters and therefore draws attention to how the main characters life has changed for the worse. The second character is wearing suit trousers and a shirt underneath a practical yet formal coat. The practical coat shows that the second character is sensible but stil professional. The sensible clothing is the only similarity shown between the two characters although it is portrayed differently, the main character is wearing a warm hoodie and a waterproof coat over the top which is depicted as a necessity rather than choice while the second character has chosen his attire through choice alone. This choice shows that the second character has control while the main character does not. The actor we are using, Tosh, holds himself high and looks authorative which makes him the best choice for the character, the clothes he wears makes him look the character he is meant to portray.
