Representation of Working Class and Community in "White Girl"

- Social Realist Genre
- British community shown in flat, council housing, less sense of community.
- British family; man in complete control, girls doing domestic jobs, mother can't read, no car, not very rich. Shows they are working class.
- Move to Muslim community in Bradford
- Close up of British family walking in the Muslim market to show that the two groups can be merged.
- Close up of wall to show seperation between cultural groups, implies that the wall can be climbed over becuase it is low, the holes in the wall mean that the two cultures can see each other and talk.
- Mosque shows transending the physical world, shows the culture of Muslim religion, relates Muslim community to poetry, music, art.
